札幌へ行く前に．．．
Before going to Sapporo...
ついに手に入れたANAのプラチナカード（＝スターアライアンスゴールドカード）。これでラウンジが使えて、優先搭乗ができます。
Finally I got a Platinum Card of NH which was equivalent to a Star Alliance Gold Card. NH’s lounges and priority boarding are available with this card.


【1日目】2005年9月1日
Day 1, 1 Sep. 2005
羽田空港へ向かうバスや電車の中で携帯電話からチェックイン。でも10月から購入時にチェックインできるようになります。ちなみに小職のベース空港は羽田と成田です。
I checked in with my mobile phone during heading for the Haneda airport by train or bus. But you can check in on the purchase of the tickets from October 2005. My base airports are Haneda for domestic and Narita for international.


羽田空港第2ターミナル北ピアにあるSignetです。飲み物はビールやウィスキーもあります。
This is a Signet lounge of NH located in the North Pier of the Terminal 2 of the Haneda airport. You can enjoy beer and whisky in addition to soft drinks.


羽田のSignetでは、Yahoo!BBモバイルが利用できます。
A wireless LAN service Yahoo! BB Mobile is available in the Signet lounges of Haneda.




Yahoo!BBモバイルは使えるまで設定が少々面倒です。まずは、予めESS-IDとWEPキーを取得しておきます。次に、無線LANの設定でESS-IDを入力し、データの暗号化を有効にして、キーの形式は16進数、キーの長さは40ビットまたは10桁を選択して、WEPキーを入力し、無線LAN接続を確立させます。最後にここにあるようなログインページからYahoo!のIDとパスワードを入力して、ようやくインターネットが使えるようになります。2回目以降は無線LANの設定が不要なので、ログインページからのログインだけで使えるようになりますが、初回の設定には時間がかかります。セキュリティーが確保されているのはよいのですが、実際にラウンジに行かないとできない無線LAN接続の確認を、ラウンジにいる短時間の間に行わなくてはいけないのは結構辛いものがあります。この辺が簡単になるとよいのですが。
It was not so easy to make the settings for Yahoo! BB Mobile before access the Internet. First of all, apply for an ESS-ID and a WEP key in advance. Then, in the setting of wireless LAN enter the ESS-ID, enable data encryption, choose hexadecimal for the key format and 40 bits or 10 digits for the key length and enter the WEP key to establish the wireless LAN connection. Finally enter your Yahoo! ID and password in the login page shown here to access the Internet. You do not have to make the wireless LAN setting again once it is completed. Afterwards all you have to do to access the Internet is log in with your Yahoo! ID and password. But it takes time to make the setting for the first time. I think the secure wireless LAN provided by Yahoo! is good. But it may be a hard job to make the setting of the wireless LAN, which cannot be completed unless you go to the lounge, within a short time during your stay in the lounge. I hope easier settings.


その後、千歳行きの飛行機に乗ろうと搭乗口に行ったら、どうやらオーバーブッキングの様子。国内線では初めての経験です。次の便に振り替えしてもよい人を募集していたので、滅多にないチャンスだし、思わず申し込んでしまいました。報奨は1万円か7,500マイルでしたが、もちろんマイルを選びました。だって1万円じゃ7,500マイル買えないからね。と言うことで、小職は次の便で札幌に行きました。
I went to the gate for my flight for Chitose/Sapporo. But I found my flight overbooked. This was my first experience of overbooking in domestic flights. An NH staff called somebody who could be a volunteer to give a seat. On this very rare opportunity I applied for a volunteer. The NH staff asked me which I preferred, 10,000 yen or 7,500 miles. Of course, I chose 7,500 miles because 10,000 yen could not buy 7,500 miles. That is why I flew to Sapporo by the next flight.

今回宿泊した札幌駅前のセンチュリーロイヤルホテル。1泊7,000円でANAのマイルも500マイルついてお得でした。2階には地ビール醸造所があったんですが、今は作っていないみたいですね。
My hotel was the Century Royal Hotel next to Sapporo Station. The room charge was 7,000 yen only. I could earn 500 miles of NH by staying this hotel. There used to be a local beer factory on the second floor but it did not work currently.

さるるの里（札幌市東区北16条東1丁目）という居酒屋で出てきた刺身。マグロとイカ、そして湯がいていない青い色の北寄貝は北海道ならではの物です。
This is a sashimi set at an izakaya named Sarurunosato located in N16 E1, Higashi-ku, Sapporo. The photo shows tuna (front left), squid (front right) and surf clam (back). You can eat surf clams with blue rims, which are fresh and unheated, only in Hokkaido.


その後、ススキノへ。。。これは今やススキノでは名物となった中国マッサージ嬢。街頭でプロモーション活動しています。肖像権に配慮しました（笑）。残念ながら利用せず。
And then I went to Susukino...This photo shows a Chinese massage girl which is very famous in Susukino now (portrait right protected). She promoted her Chinese massage on the street. I did not go to massage this time.


小職の〆はそば。そば処まる山（札幌市中央区南5条西4丁目）です。さすがススキノのそば屋は午前2時までやってるぞ。
My final meal of the day was soba noodle. The noodle restaurant named Maruyama located in S5 W4, Chuo-ku, Sapporo was open in Susukino until 2 am.
